How To Change IP Address on Airport Extreme

Changing IP addresses is a big problem for many computer users because of a lot of program applications. As we all know what is an IP address? I like to tell you that you can easily switch to a new IP address on your computer system.

Recently I want to change the IP address on my Airport Extreme but the issue is I know how to change it. I research a lot on the web and finally found the proper solution and successfully changed the IP address on Airport Extreme.

Changing IP Address on Airport Extreme

First of all, I will tell there are three different types of IP address that you’ve noticed on your mac system after connecting Airport Extreme. IP addresses are Public IP Address, Different IP Address Range, Static IP Address. So you’ve decides which IP address you want to change on your computer system. However, I will show all three IP address changing processes.

Change Public IP Address on Mac

Step 1 : 

Power off your entire network

Step 2 : 

Wait for 30 Minutes, That will allow the modem to reset and issue a new IP address

Step 3 : 

Start the Modem and wait for 2 to 3 minutes

Step 4 : 

Now starts the Airport Extreme in the same way

Switch to Different IP address Range on Mac

Step 1 :

Open Finder then Go to Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Step 2 : 

Click on the Airport Extreme icon, then Edit

Step 3 : 

Click on the Network tab at (top of the window)

Step 4 : 

Click on Network Options

Step 5 : 

Now you’ve to Change the IPv4 DHCP Range from 10.0.1.2 to 200  to read 192.168.1.2 to 200

Step 6 : 

Click on Save, then Update when you’ll do and wait for 30 seconds for the AP Extreme to Restart

Changing Static IP address on Mac 

Step 1 : 

Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities >  AirPort Utility

Step 2 :

Click the AirPort Extreme icon, then click Edit

Step 3 :

Click on the Internet tab at the top of the window

Step 4: 

Enter the Static IP address that you want to use next to iPV4 Address

Step 5 :

Click on Update 

Now you’ve to decide which IP address you want to change mainly Airport Extreme user change Static IP address using Mac.
