Searching for how to make cannabutter? Cannabutter or we can say cannabis-infused butter is one of the simplest ways to prepare infused cannabis edibles. Sometimes making infused butter can be a little bit tricky or complicated. In order to activate its action potential, the flower should be heated slowly at a lower temperature.
What is the Recipe of CannaButter?
This recipe will guide you through this process–called decarboxylation first before you walk through a step-by-step guide to infuse the butter. In this article, we will be discussing the step by step procedure to make the cannabutter. Follow the guidelines. We all know that homemade edibles are very difficult to dose accurately.
This step by step guide will give you some tips and tricks for more precise dosing. But it would help if you kept in mind that all the Do It Yourself cannabis cooks should be aware of the fact that there’s no way to guarantee the potency or homogeneity of their batch.
Butter is one of the delicious and versatile carriers for THC and other cannabinoids. But this is not all. You can else use coconut oil, olive oil, or any different kind of fatty oil for your preparation. Just keep in your mind that butter burns easily, so keep an eagle eye on your cannabutter when it gets cooked.
Note the Ingredients:
You will need one cup of butter and one cup (7-10 grams) of ground cannabis (they must be decarboxylated). If they are not, then you’ll need to decarboxylate or “decarb” the cannabis flowers you’re dealing with. Do not skip this step because skipping this step will result in a weak or inactive finished product.
Making procedure:
Step 1:
At first, after getting the decarbed cannabis, preheat the oven to 245ºF. Now you have to place the cannabis buds on a non-stick oven or safe tray. Cover the dish with a parchment paper to prevent the sticking.
Then insert the tray into the oven and set a timer for 30-40 minutes at least. Older and drier cannabis may take lesser time. After passing every 10 minutes, you have to gently combine the buds with a light shake of the tray to expose the area of the buds.
Step 2:
In the next step, you have to grind the decarboxylated cannabis coarsely with a hand grinder.
Step 3:
Now you have to melt the butter. Please add one cup of water and one cup of butter into a saucepan. Take the help of low heat and let the butter melt. Adding extra water will help that to regulate the temperature and prevents the butter from scorching.
Step 4:
In the next step, please add the cannabis. As the butter begins to melt, you have to add the ground cannabis product.
Step 5:
Sim the heat. Maintain a low temperature (ideally above 160ºF but never exceeding 200ºF), and you have to let the mixture simmer for 2 to 3 hours, stirring that occasionally. The dough should not come to a full boil even for once.
Step 6:
Now you have to strain the cannabutter afterwards. Please set a funnel on top of a jar and line it with a cheesecloth. Once the butter has cooled off, you have to pour it over the cheesecloth funnel and allow that to strain freely. Do not squeeze the cloth.
Step 7:
After that, please refrigerate the jar of butter. In case if it excess water forms at the bottom of the pot, then you may remove the solid butter using the knife and drain out that water. The butter will be needed to refrigerate more for about an hour before removing the water.
Step 8:
Now, at last, you have to dose carefully, and your cannabutter is ready to be served.
