How to Add Gmail Account to Mac Mail

There are two ways to add your Gmail to Apple Mail with Mac operating system

  • Using Add Account
  • Using Preference

Setup Gmail Account To Mac Mail Using Add Account

Step 1 :

Go to the Finder and run the Mail application.

Step 2: 

In the navigation toolbar, Mail > Add Account.

Step 3: 

Select “Google” and click on the Continue button.

Step 4:

Now type your Full name, Gmail address and Password > Create button.

Step 5: 

You receive the message “Account must be manually configured“.

Step 6:

In the Information Mail Server Info screen, select IMAP and fill in the correct data.

Step 7: 

After filling in the server information click on the Next button.

Step 8:

In Additional Incoming Mail Server Info > Enter Port =993,  Authentication Password and click on Next button.

Step 9: 

In Outgoing Mail Server Info do the same as Information Mail Server Info.

Step 10:

Your OS X successfully connects to Mac mail.

Connect your Gmail Account to Apple Mail Using IMAP settings

First of all, you have to enable IMAP on your Google Mail account if you how to do that then it’s fine, But if you don’t know how to enable IMAP in Gmail then visit this official page.

Step 1 :

Select Mail and then select Preference in the Mac application.

Step 2:

Go to the Account tab, and add a new account.

Step 3:

In New Account, type your Email Address and Password >Continue.

Step 4: 

Fill in Information about the Incoming Mail Server > Continue.

Step 5:

Fill in information about the Outgoing Mail Server > Continue.

Now you can read your Google Mail emails from Apple Mail on your computer.
