But we all know that “it’s never a loose deal to be cautious”. So please make an extra copy of your original document. Now if you are done with it, let us get started.
First of all, please rename the extension of your spreadsheet from “*.xlsx to *.zip”. It is very important.
Then open the “ZIP” file in any File Compression software available. There are many free versions available on the internet. Like 7-Zip.
After that you have to locate the “xl” folder and then the “worksheets” folder.
Now, within the “worksheets” folder, you will find a list of all your worksheets in the spreadsheet. You will find them listed as sheet1.xml, sheet2.xml, and so on.
Next, if you find a lot of worksheets within your spreadsheet, then this next step can be a little complex for you. Starting from the sheet1.xml, please open the file in Notepad first and then search for the line that begins with.
“<sheetProtection algorithmName=”SHA-512″ hashValue=”.
Find the whole thing-
“<sheetProtection algorithmName=”SHA-512″ hashValue=”x9RyFM+j9H4J3IFFhsHo3q1kQkuLydpJlLh2mdvfvk15He/Yps8xizWt/XkAJ//g+TyqgcU+8o1QBjQvKDqIzg==” saltValue=”57YXDPnVjawU5s1nGyT8fQ==” spinCount=”100000″ sheet=”1″ objects=”1″ scenarios=”1″/>” and delete it.
Now save the modified XML file. You have to repeat this process for every XML file preset over the spreadsheet. Once you complete it, you have to add your modified XML files back into the “zip” file. You have to overwrite all existing original XML files minutely.
And lastly, renames your *.Zip file back to *.xlsx
That is all about it. With this, you will be making all your worksheets unprotected and you’ll be having full access to your data and information stored within them. Readout more excel article like how to sort in excel in step by step process without hassle.
