How to Convert Text File to Excel
Follow the below-given step by step instructions to a covert content text file to excel without having a hassle.
Step 1:
At first open the Excel spreadsheet. The place, where you want to save the data. Then click the Data tab.
Step 2:
You will find a Get External Data group. Click on “From Text”.
Step 3:
After that select the TXT or CSV file which you want to convert. Now click on “Import”.
Step 4:
Next you have to select “Delimited”. The delimiter is a typical way of saying that your TXT file uses tabs. In the case of CSV file, it uses commas to separate and group your data.
Step 5:
After that click on “Next”. Now select the delimiter. It groups your data into individual columns in the Data preview field. You have to select “Tab” when converting a TXT file.

Please keep that in mind that if you select “Space”, it will split a single column into multiple columns. The column may have header text has multiple words. As an example, we can say that a “First Name” column becomes a “First” column. The “Name” column. You must look carefully at the Data preview to make sure your data’s alignment with the intended column header.
Step 7:
Then click on “Next” and after that select the “General”. Then click on “Finish” button.
Step 8:
Now you have to choose the “Existing Worksheet”.
Next please add “=$A$1” to the field. That will ensure that your data begins in Row 1 and Column A cell of the spreadsheet. If there remains any blank row in the spreadsheet above your data, then it may cause a file import error.
Step 9:
Then click on “OK” and after that tap on the “Save” button to save the changes.
