Enable IP Routing On Windows 10

Follow the given below step by step guide to enable IP Routing on Windows 10.

Step 1 : 

Open Command Prompt by Start Menu

Step 2 : 

In Command box type “Regedit” and hit enter button

Step 3 : 

Registry Editor pop up, Navigate to the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet >Services> Tcpip >Parameters > IP Enable Router

 

 

Step 4 : 

When you reach to the file name “IP Enable Router” right click and select “Modify” and change 0 to 1 and hit OK button.

Step 5 : 

Now go the StartMenu and in search box type “Run” and hit enter button

Step 6 : 

In Run box type “Services.msc” and hit Enter button

Step 7 : 

Now navigate to Routing and Remote Access service, right click to open its properties

Go to Startup Types and Change it to Automatic and click on Start and hit OK button

    GREAT CLEAR EASY UNDERSTAND COMMAND PROCESS. EASY TO FOLLOW EVEN FOR NOVICES LIKE ME! JUST EXERCISING A LITTLE CAUTION THOUGH DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TOO RESET ALL MY DEICES.     When I go to routing and remote access, and I turn it to automatic I can’t click on start cause it’s grayed out. Pls help

      Hello TJ,

      Select Automatic…and then hit “OK ” Button..After that again open Routing And Remote Access Properties and you able to Start IP Routing In Windows 10

    When I clicked the start button, it started to run but then it said “The Routing and Remote Access service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. ” What do I do now?
